Hello, I’m Scott James. Many of you know me as a forty-year radio broadcaster. Or a former Johnstown Town Councilor and Mayor. Or a current Weld County Commissioner.

Bottom line: I’m just an Average Joe.

In the first episode of this new podcast, which begins on January 1, 2025, I will share the story of my salvation and the word I was given over twenty years ago. God made me many things that are painfully and delightfully average. However, where I succeed is in the realm of communications. God made me a pretty decent, natural born communicator. And I have always believed that I am to use that gift to glorify him.

But how> Back to that word I was given. It was a phrase, actually: Jesus and the Average Joe. I believe there are many like me who struggle and wrestle with our faith. We’re not like those might men of God who we see in church on Sundays. We’re just guys and girls – Average – Average Joes and Janes trying to make our way in the world and somehow opening that our fallen and broken nature somehow pleases God.

Spoiler alert: It doesn’t. But our belief in and devotion to His Son does. So we Average Joes and Janes need to pursue Jesus.

Let’s do that together in 2025. As much for me as it is for you, let’s highlight the 365 times the Bible says “fear not” or “do not be afraid.” And let’s apply that to our lives in 2025 so that we can thrive – the word I was given for this coming year.

It’ll all make sense. For now, I would kindly ask that you like, subscribe, follow, and share this feed. I’m a little afraid – surprise – but it will be fun. Talk to you in a couple of days!
