Weekly Theme Reminder:
This week, we’re exploring God’s promise to always be with us, no matter what we face.
Welcome back to Jesus and the Average Joe! Today is Day 8 of our year-long journey through God’s promises. This week, we’ve been exploring the assurance of His presence. Today’s verse, Psalm 46:1, reminds us that God is not just present—He is our refuge and strength, always ready to help when we need Him most.
Life is unpredictable, full of moments that can leave us shaken and searching for stability. Psalm 46:1 offers us a lifeline:
God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.
Psalms 46:1-2
A refuge is a place of safety—a shelter from the storm. When the challenges of life feel overwhelming, we can run to God, knowing that He is our safe haven. And He’s not just our refuge—He’s also our strength, equipping us with the courage and resolve to face life’s storms head-on.
I’ve experienced this firsthand during moments of uncertainty. When my strength felt insufficient, God’s presence carried me through. He reminded me that I didn’t have to face the battle alone—He was with me, always ready to help.
Whatever you’re facing today, take comfort in knowing that God is your refuge and strength. He is not distant; He is present, ready to meet you in the midst of your trouble and equip you with His peace and power.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being my refuge and strength. In moments of trouble, help me to lean on Your presence and trust that You are always ready to help. Amen.
Challenge:
Write down a challenge or worry you’re currently facing. Reflect on Psalm 46:1 and declare that God is your refuge and strength in that situation.
