Weekly Theme Reminder:
This week, we’re exploring God’s promise to always be with us, no matter what we face.

Welcome back to Jesus and the Average Joe! Today is Day 6 of our journey to embrace God’s promises and thrive in 2025. This week, we’ve been reflecting on God’s presence, and today’s verse, 2 Timothy 1:7, is a reminder that fear isn’t part of God’s design for us. Instead, He gives us power, love, and self-discipline to navigate life boldly.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7

Have you ever felt like fear holds you back from living fully? I know I have. Fear whispers lies that make us doubt our calling, our worth, and our abilities. But 2 Timothy 1:7 reassures us that God doesn’t give us a spirit of fear. Instead, He fills us with power, love, and self-discipline.

Power is the strength to stand firm in God’s promises. Love reminds us that we are deeply cherished and equips us to show that love to others. Self-discipline helps us stay focused on His purpose for our lives.

I’ve had moments when fear made me hesitate, but remembering this verse gave me the confidence to step forward. When we lean into God’s spirit, fear loses its grip, and we discover the boldness He has placed within us.

Fear doesn’t define you—God does. He’s given you His Spirit of power, love, and self-discipline to replace fear. Step into today with confidence, knowing He equips you for every challenge and calling.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for replacing fear with Your Spirit of power, love, and self-discipline. Help me to rely on Your strength and live boldly in the purpose You’ve designed for me. Amen.

Challenge:

Identify one area of your life where fear is holding you back. Write down 2 Timothy 1:7 and declare God’s truth over that fear today.
