Welcome to the very first day of Jesus and the Average Joe! I’m so excited to kick off this journey with you as we dive into the 365 times the Bible tells us “Fear Not” or “Do Not Be Afraid.” These daily reflections will help us embrace God’s promises and live with confidence and hope in 2025.
I’ll never forget September 8, 1996. That day, I stood up in church for an altar call, unsure of why I did it or what would happen next. Looking back, I now know it was the Holy Spirit nudging me forward.
Pastor Johnny Square looked right at me and said, “Brother, today you just set a lot of people free.” I didn’t fully understand what he meant, but in that moment, something shifted. God was now with me. So why have I never truly shaken off the fear?
Isaiah 41:10 reminds us of the power we all have to overcome fear…
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Isaiah 41:10
What fear are you carrying into the new year? In the podcast, I share my fears, and the two things that have stolen so much from my life! Take a moment today to reflect on this truth: You are not facing it alone. God is with you, strengthening you and holding you up with His righteous right hand.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being with me, especially in moments of fear. Help me to trust in Your strength and presence as I step into this new year. Remind me that I am never alone, and that Your promises are unshakable. Amen.
Challenge:
Write down one fear or worry that you’re carrying into 2025. Then, write Isaiah 41:10 next to it as a reminder that God is with you, helping you to face it.
