Fox News profiles Oregon high jumper Alexa Anderson, who protested a trans competitor and says her medal was withheld. Lawsuit advances amid threats. My take: protect girls.

Fox News reporter Jackson Thompson tells the story of Oregon high jumper Alexa Anderson, who stepped off the girls podium rather than pose alongside a trans competitor. She alleges officials kept her third place medal for months, and a federal judge has allowed parts of her lawsuit to proceed. The piece ran November 16, 2025.

Anderson describes the backlash that followed, including death threats and calls to her school urging expulsion. She says she ultimately received the medal later, with a public presentation at the Fox Nation Patriot Awards.

The Bullet Point Brief

  • The protest: Anderson and another athlete stepped off the podium rather than pose with a male competing in girls high jump. Principle over photo op.
  • The claim: her third place medal was withheld for months until legal pressure. That is not sportsmanship. That is spite.
  • The suit: an OSAA motion to strike was denied, so the First Amendment case keeps moving. Process matters. So does equal treatment.
  • The fallout: threats and harassment poured in. You should never need a lawyer and a security plan to keep a girls medal.
  • The moment: she finally got the medal, onstage at the Patriot Awards. The lesson writes itself. Courage invites cost, then change.

My Bottom Line

Men are men. Women are women. Chromosomes are not a costume. We have a word for this in the real world. It is called fairness. If my daughter trains for years, she should not be forced to compete against a biological male. Anyone who pretends that is compassion is selling you ideology dressed up as mercy.

This is not complicated. The American church got soft. Too many pastors traded clarity for applause. Fathers drifted to the sidelines and hoped the culture would play nice. It did not. Men of God, time to clock in. Speak truth with backbone and kindness. Protect the flock. Your job is not to mirror the world. Your job is to disciple it.

Scripture is clear that God created us male and female and charged fathers to lead, love, and defend their households. That includes defending your daughter’s lane, her locker room, and her right to fair play. If you will not say it into a microphone, at least say it into a school board meeting. Biology is not bigotry. Protecting girls is not hate. It is obedience. And yes, it is love.
