Michelle Obama says America is not ready for a woman president after Harris’ loss. I say stop grading by pigment and parts. Character and competence win.

Fox News reporter Landon Mion covers remarks from former first lady Michelle Obama, who told an audience that America is not ready to elect a woman to the White House, pointing to Kamala Harris’ 2024 loss to Donald Trump. The piece ran November 16, 2025 and quotes Obama saying, “sadly, we ain’t ready.”

According to the report, Obama made the comments at the Brooklyn Academy of Music while promoting her new book, “The Look.” She added that men in America are not comfortable being led by a woman and waved off talk of her own run.

The Bullet Point Brief

  • The claim: America is not ready for a woman president, based on Harris losing to Trump in 2024.
  • The setting: Brooklyn Academy of Music, during a promo event for “The Look.”
  • The quote: “Don’t even look at me about running… You’re not ready for a woman.” That is a hard pass.
  • The rationale: she says too many men are not comfortable being led by a woman. That is her read on voters.
  • The backdrop: her book argues women in politics get judged on looks rather than leadership.

My Bottom Line

This is the kind of rhetoric that fries my circuits. When will the Democratic Party stop making every loss about our pigment or our parts. Americans are not a collection of checkboxes. We are citizens. What matters is the content of our character and the integrity of our leaders. Not color. Not sex. Character and competence.

If your bench is thin and your message is tired, do not slander the country as sexist. Do better. Recruit better. Run better. I do not buy the idea that millions of voters looked at policy, results, and a candidate’s record, then said no because of chromosomes. Voters have agency. They can like women leaders and still pass on a specific candidate because the product underwhelmed.

Here is my read. The modern Left keeps reaching for the fire alarm labeled Racism and Sexism because it is easier than fixing the platform or the pipeline. That is not moral clarity. That is marketing. Stop grading America by pigment and parts and start elevating virtue. Give us leaders who tell the truth, keep promises, and respect the people who pay the bills. If character shows up, voters will notice.
