Billion-Dollar ‘Loss’ or Taxpayer Liberation?

Written by Scott K. James

Colorado cries over lost revenue like it’s entitled to your paycheck. Spoiler alert: it isn’t. Businesses winning = government whining.

Colorado Newsline just dropped a sob story titled “As Colorado loses more than $1 billion, large corporations stand to gain.” Written with all the emotional pull of a midday soap opera, the article paints big business as the mustache-twirling villain and Colorado’s tax coffers as the helpless damsel tied to the tracks. Apparently, giving companies tax relief is equivalent to mugging the state treasury.

The Bullet Point Brief

  • Boo hoo! Colorado’s expected to lose over $1B in revenue because people and businesses might get to keep their own money.
  • The villains in this fairy tale? Large corporations who dared… exist inside a favorable operating environment.
  • Liberals clutch pearls while pretending letting taxpayers keep money somehow robs schools and roads – like there’s no waste in this bloated circus tent they call a budget.
  • The solution? Not spending cuts – but another round of guilt-tripped ballot measures trying to claw dollars back from voters’ wallets.

My Bottom Line

Calling this a “loss” for Colorado is like saying the cashier lost money by not stealing from your wallet. If government doesn’t take what wasn’t theirs to begin with – that ain’t theft, that’s freedom. Heaven forbid people and businesses get to actually keep some of what they earn. No wonder bureaucrats are freaking out—they might have to do math before blowing our money on another study nobody reads.

This piece throws around numbers like it’s Monopoly night, but let me make something clear: the government isn’t losing jack. It’s just not confiscating it anymore. That $1 billion stays where it belongs – with families trying to afford gas, small businesses keeping doors open, and yes – even those ‘evil’ corporations providing jobs and paying property taxes so sky-high they need oxygen masks just to stay open.

Government crying poor when they’ve been drunk on spending for decades is rich – especially when every nickel you let them have ends up funding rainbow-colored crosswalks and six-figure consultants teaching diversity sudoku or whatever today’s grift is. Cut spending. Tighten belts. You know – like every actual American household already has to do.

Keep screaming about fairness while voters keep rejecting your scams at the ballot box. We’re not buying what you’re selling—but thanks for reminding us we need to lock up our wallets before y’all write another ballot measure disguised as charity.
