SCOTUS shields minors from irreversible gender surgeries—common sense, Biblical values, and child protection beat destructive ideology every time.

Wednesday’s 6–3 Supreme Court smackdown in United States v. Skrmetti didn’t just uphold Tennessee’s SB 1—it delivered a knockout punch to the radical idea that minors should be guinea pigs in what the Gazette rightly calls “gender mutilation.” For too long, activists have tried to sugarcoat barbaric surgeries and lifelong hormone regimens as “care,” but the Court saw through the façade and affirmed that states have a “substantial and compelling interest” in shielding children from irreversible harm . Let’s be clear: adults can decide all they want about their own bodies—hell, walk around in a tutu if it makes you happy—but subjecting children to experimental chemical cocktails and scalpels is straight-up child abuse, a violation not only of science but of every Biblical principle about protecting the innocent.

Colorado’s lawmakers would be wise to grab this ruling by the horns and draft protections of their own, instead of chasing the latest ideological fad. There are two parties in America today: the party of flourishing, which defends children and upholds common sense, and the party of destruction, which weaponizes the vulnerable for profit and prestige . If you care about the future of our state—and the souls of its young—stand up for laws that prioritize child welfare over avant-garde sanctimony. It’s high time we drop the gender insanity, embrace some good old-fashioned Biblical wisdom, and protect the kids from this full-on denial of both hard science and the Creator’s design.
