Everyone is so anxious about Tuesday’s election. To a certain degree, I am, too. Like many, I believe tomorrow’s election is more than just an election. I believe the country is on trial – and we are about to receive a verdict. We will choose a president who believes in freedom or tyranny. Depending on which news you consume, you believe that description could apply to either candidate.
We are so divided – so silo’ed. We the people must break down those walls and reach out to one another. The politicians won’t do it. They benefit from the division. That’s how they build coalitions and get elected. No, we the people must seek our E Pluribus Unum – from many, one.
Following up on my Facebook post…
Trust God. He has helped you survive a lot. He’ll help you survive what is coming.
Scripturally, let me provide some receipts…
Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) – “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
Deuteronomy 31:8 (NLT) – “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
Psalm 46:1-3 (NLT) – “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea. Let the oceans roar and foam. Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!”
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT) – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.”
2 Corinthians 1:10 (NLT) – “And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.”
Lamentations 3:22-23 (NLT) – “The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.”
Psalm 34:17-19 (NLT) – “The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time.”
Joshua 1:9 (NLT) – “This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Regardless of who wins tomorrow, my King is still on the throne and in control. Breathe deep. He’s gotten you through a lot. He’ll be there to get you through whatever comes next.
